SAP Digital Payments Solution Architect- 50% Travel to San Diego, CA (Expenses Paid)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced SAP Digital Payments Solution Architect / Consultant to lead the design and implementation of SAP S/4HANA payment acceptance solutions for enterprise clients. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SAP Digital Payments, payment provider integrations, and end-to-end payment processing workflows including credit card and alternative payment methods.
This role requires hands-on experience configuring SAP payment solutions, integrating payment gateways/providers, and ensuring secure, compliant payment processing within SAP S/4HANA environments. The consultant will work closely with functional, technical, middleware, and finance teams to deliver scalable and secure payment solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead design and implementation of SAP S/4HANA payment acceptance solutions for credit cards and alternative payment methods.
- Configure and enable SAP Digital Payments scenarios and payment provider connectivity including certificates, endpoints, and provider-specific parameters.
- Define and implement payment workflows including authorization, capture, partial capture, refunds, voids, chargebacks, and payment reversals.
- Design tokenization and secure card data storage solutions to minimize PCI compliance scope.
- Collaborate with middleware and integration teams for APIs, monitoring, and error handling processes.
- Ensure proper FI-AR accounting impacts including incoming payments, clearing, and customer open item management.
- Lead payment-related SIT/UAT testing, regression testing, failover testing, and production validation.
- Support production go-live, hyper care, incident troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Create training materials, technical documentation, and provide knowledge transfer to support teams.
Required Skills:
- Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA Digital Payments and SAP payment solutions.
- Hands-on expertise integrating payment gateways/providers and payment APIs.
- Experience with payment processing flows including authorization, capture, refunds, and reversals.
- Knowledge of tokenization, PCI compliance, and secure payment processing architecture.
- Strong understanding of SAP FI-AR integration and accounting impacts.
- Experience working with middleware/integration platforms and troubleshooting payment interfaces.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with alternative payment methods and global payment providers.
- Exposure to production support and hyper care activities.
- Experience in large enterprise SAP transformation programs.
