Summary

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in casting and machining processes, particularly aluminum castings. The role will lead supplier quality activities, support APQP/PPAP and new product development, and resolve production and launch quality issues. The engineer will collaborate closely with suppliers, manufacturing, and engineering teams and provide practical shop-floor solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead supplier quality activities for casting and machined components.
  • Drive APQP, PPAP, and engineering change management at supplier locations.
  • Resolve supplier quality issues and improve process capability.
  • Support NPD, product launches, and ramp-up quality activities.
  • Conduct supplier audits, assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive CAPA and sustainable quality improvements.
  • Serve as a technical interface between suppliers, manufacturing, and engineering teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 7 10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, supplier quality, operations, or quality engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with aluminum casting, including HPDC and LPDC.
  • Experience with machining of engineered components.
  • Proven supplier quality management and structured problem-solving experience.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality management systems.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Work Requirements

  • Frequent travel to supplier locations is required.
  • Willingness to travel within and outside the USA.
  • Ability to work directly with suppliers and provide practical shop-floor-level solutions.
