Overview
We are seeking a Senior DBA to manage AWS cloud databases while ensuring performance, security, availability, and reliability. This role combines technical database management with clientfacing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Manage AWS RDS (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) databases.
Handle provisioning, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning.
Implement backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies.
Ensure database security, encryption, and access controls.
Monitor health, troubleshoot performance issues, and support production databases.
Act as the primary client contact for database environments.
Gather requirements, provide architecture recommendations, and explain solutions clearly.
Support incidents, RCA discussions, audits, and provide documentation/runbooks.
Advise on scalability, reliability, and cost optimization best practices.
Qualifications
7+ years of DBA experience.
Strong AWS RDS (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) expertise.
Proven clientfacing/support experience.
Solid knowledge of performance tuning, security, and DR strategies.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred: MongoDB, managed database services, AWS/database certifications, experience supporting multiple client database
