At JAM Best One Fleet Service, we are looking for motivated individuals to assist our team during the summer months. This is a great opportunity for students interested in mechanics, diesel technology, agriculture, welding, fabrication, or hands-on careers. No experience required, just a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and positive attitude.
Position OverviewSummer Helpers will assist our technicians and shop teams with entry-level tasks such as:
- Organizing tools, parts, and shop areas
- Sweeping and helping keep the shop clean and organized
- Washing and cleaning vehicles
- Stocking shelves and sorting inventory
- Assisting technicians with non-hazardous tasks
- Mounting and dismounting standard tires using manual tools
- Operating a tire balancer
- Learning about the commercial tire and mechanical industry
This position allows incumbents to gain valuable real-world experience while working alongside experienced professionals in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in mechanical career school is encouraged but not required
- Interest in mechanical, automotive, diesel, agricultural, or technical careers is a plus
- Michigan summer work permit required
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a shop environment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work with tools and equipment throughout the shift
The ability to work a full shift, arrive on time, and work according to the necessary schedule to meet business demands with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position.
