Summary

JSG is seeking a strategic, forward-thinking IT Director to drive our client''s technology initiatives and manage the IT team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive IT strategies aligned with business objectives, ensuring optimal system performance, security, and continuous innovation. You will oversee core infrastructure, software development environments, and critical systems migrations while championing a modern, security-first mindset.

A successful candidate will be a proactive leader with a track record of implementing scalable solutions, integrating advanced AI systems, driving technological growth, and fostering a high-performance IT culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Design and implement a multi-year IT roadmap to support business growth, digital transformation, and competitive advantage.
  • Infrastructure & Environment Management: Oversee the planning, deployment, and maintenance of all IT systems, including network architecture, cloud solutions, hardware infrastructure, and robust software development environments.
  • Systems Migrations: Strategy, execution, and oversight of complex systems migrations, ensuring data integrity, minimal operational downtime, and seamless transitions from legacy frameworks.
  • AI Systems Integration & Enablement: Act as the internal champion for artificial intelligence; evaluate, deploy, and manage AI systems while designing training programs to upskill and enable internal teams on AI tools.
  • Team Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing IT team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance: Establish and enforce a strong emphasis on cybersecurity best practices. Maintain robust security protocols across all infrastructure, development environments, and migration pipelines; conduct risk assessments and ensure adherence to data privacy laws and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, FERPA).
  • Budgeting & Procurement: Manage the IT budget effectively, negotiate vendor contracts, and oversee investments in technology to maximize ROI.
  • Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Develop, implement, and regularly test disaster recovery and business continuity plans to safeguard operations.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to identify technology needs, develop solutions, and enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree (MBA or MS) preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive IT experience, including 3-5 years in senior leadership or managerial roles.
  • Hands-on experience managing modern software development environments and leading large-scale systems migrations.
  • Strong technical expertise in cybersecurity frameworks with a proven track record of securing enterprise infrastructure against evolving threats.
  • Forward-thinking technical aptitude, including direct experience deploying, managing, or training others on AI-driven systems and workflows.
  • Expertise in network architecture, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, WMS, Shopify), and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Strong strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ITIL, PMP, or vendor-specific (Cisco, Microsoft, Azure) certifications are highly desirable.

Physical & Safety Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and stand/walk as needed.
  • Ability to perform work safely, adhering to all safety protocols to protect self and others.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has direct supervisory responsibilities over approximately 5 direct reports (including IT personnel and technical staff).


Location: On-Site

Compensation: $160,000 - $200,000
