  • Typical Day in the Role

    The candidate is supposed to build, execute and monitor automations pertaining to storage capacity management and related components. The candidate would also be responsible in writing and testing code, scripts to address scenarios pertaining to their tasks

    Purpose of the Team: The team is part of Azure Storage, specifically supporting a core service that underpins the platform. They focus on the management plane of storage, enabling customers to provision and manage storage resources and related services. Their work also supports Azure Virtual Machines (VMs) and contributes to one of the three key infrastructure pillars: compute, storage, and network.

    Key projects: This role will contribute to supporting an internal capacity management project for Azure Storage, focused on managing and optimizing storage capacity.

    Ideal Background of Candidates

    Someone with 2-3 years of expericing in developing and debugging code in .Net C#; Willingness to learn and adopt to internal AI tools to improve productivity and procure automation

    Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain handson coding experience (ex, C#), focus on building automation (not just dashboards), exposure to AI driven workflows, and prior Microsoft experience.

    Summary:

    The main function of a Service Engineer is to design, develop, implement, test, and maintain business and computer applications software or specialized utility programs including mainframe and client/server applications, and major enhancement of existing systems

    Job Responsibilities:

    Hands on in writing code in .Net C# , Knowledge of Powershell, Python or other scripting language is a plus

    Gather and analyze system requirements, document specifications, and develop software solutions to meet client needs and data

    Analyze and review enhancement requests and specifications

    Implement system software and customize to client requirements

    Prepare the detailed software specifications and test plans

    Code new programs to client's specifications and create test data for testing

    Modify existing programs to new standards and conduct unit testing of developed programs

    Create migration packages for system testing, user testing, and implementation

    Provide quality assurance reviews

    Perform post-implementation validation of software and resolve any bugs found during testing

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required

    2-4 years experience required

    A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design

    large systems software design and development experience

    Experience performing in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing with both new and legacy production systems

    experience in programming and experience with problem diagnosis and resolution
