Overview
This role is supporting a fast-paced government environment in Washington, DC, providing Tier II deskside support to end users across multiple office locations. The position focuses on troubleshooting Windows-based hardware and software issues, resolving break/fix incidents, supporting printers and peripherals, installing specialized applications, and managing tickets through an ITSM system. The technician will also assist with security-driven device removals, coordinate with internal teams, and provide white-glove support to senior leadership and executive offices when needed. Candidates should have prior experience in a Windows enterprise environment, strong troubleshooting skills, experience working independently, and the ability to travel between nearby buildings throughout the workday. An active Public Trust clearance is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide deskside support for end-user devices, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Perform break/fix support such as replacing hard drives, batteries, and other hardware components.
- Assist in the installation of specialty software not already packaged in SCCM.
- Remove devices from the network as directed by Security.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with printers, including installation of toner and troubleshooting hardware problems.
- Work independently through a ticketing system to deliver prompt and professional service to users.
- Coordinate with security and other teams for device removals and security compliance.
- Support senior management offices and leadership with high-priority technical support, providing timely and professional service.
Requirements- High School diploma with 5+ years of prior relevant experience
- Current Public Trust clearance
- Ability to maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Past experience providing IT (Tier II) support in a Windows office environment
- Experience troubleshooting Windows issues, such as Blue Screen of Death
- Use of an ITSM ticketing system
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work across multiple buildings in Washington without direct supervision
