Summary

Individual shall be responsible for the Tank Integrity Program for above ground petroleum storage tanks at several products terminals.

Major Accountabilities
  • Maintain the five (5) year plan for tank cleaning, inspection, and repairs.
  • Includes: developing the five (5) year plan, working with Terminal Managers and Operations to schedule the work, coordinating tank cleaning, and API 653 inspections.
  • Reading and interpreting tank inspection reports, evaluating the recommended repairs, and developing scopes of work to complete the repairs.
  • Closely manage the cleanings, inspections, and repairs for multiple tank projects simultaneously
  • Heavy involvement with the planning and execution for the construction of any new tanks.
  • Coordinate with terminal managers to develop project scopes, cost estimates, write Capital Requests, conduct pre bid meetings, preconstruction meetings, and closely manage project execution and project spending within budget.
  • Ensure that all work is performed to company safety and tank integrity standards and procedures.
  • Liaise with Business Development on tank outages and development of plans to reduce commercial impacts of same
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent PC skills, with proficiency in Microsoft products, Teams and Webex
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to independently proof work for accuracy
  • Ability to manage time and scheduling to meet appropriate deadlines
  • Ability to work successfully in stressful situations, and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to take directions from supervisors
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Maintain and evaluate tank maintenance history as well as update in the Sunoco Tank Integrity Database (TIDB) accordingly.

Minimum Requirements

Education:
  • Engineering degree preferred
  • API 653 certification preferred
Experience Requirement:
  • 8 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Five (5) years of related project management experience required.
  • Design, construction, and / or maintenance of above ground atmospheric storage tanks preferred.
  • Basic metallurgy knowledge/experience a plus.
  • Must be familiar with API 650, 653, STI SP001 and other related above ground storage tank recommended practices as they pertain to storage tanks.

The employee will be required to:
  • Climb up to twelve (12) 48-foot-tall tanks per day,
  • Walk up to 2 miles at a time
  • Enter above ground storage tanks through manways that are 24 inches or larger
  • Travel to jobsites by car, plane, or any other reasonable means
Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • Normal office working conditions typically.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required (20-30%).
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
