The Data Product Analyst is responsible for partnering with stakeholders to build, test, enhance, and operate data products that meet business needs. The ideal candidate is an experienced, people-centric product professional who can communicate effectively across all levels of data fluency.



This role requires a strong understanding of data ingestion and management practices, the creation of sustainable data processes and tools, and the ability to bridge business and technical landscapes. The Data Product Analyst plays a critical role in translating business needs into actionable requirements that drive high-quality data product delivery.



The Data Product Analyst manages collaboration across stakeholder teams to build, test, enhance, and operate data products that meet business and operational needs. This role partners closely with the Product Owner to remain aligned on product vision and ensure that vision is translated into well-defined user stories.



Within the analysis domain, the Data Product Analyst works with subject matter experts (SMEs) to define business processes, business logic, impact assessments, feature breakdowns, and prioritization. The analyst serves as the team's primary source of truth for business logic, requirements, analysis, and testing, ensuring clarity and consistency throughout the product lifecycle.



Key Responsibilities



Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to gather, analyze, and define business and technical requirements for data products.



Lead workshops, interviews, and working sessions to elicit requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.



Translate stakeholder needs into clear, actionable Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) that guide development and delivery.



Create and maintain product documentation, reporting materials, and stakeholder communications.



Serve as the primary point of contact for data product requirements across the product lifecycle.



Proactively communicate plans, progress, risks, and issues, escalating when appropriate.



Work closely with engineering, analytics, and UX teams to support successful implementation.



Prioritize features and enhancements based on business impact, feasibility, and strategic alignment.



Support testing activities by creating test plans, writing test cases and scripts, and logging defects.



Prepare system documentation including process flows, customer journey maps, and business process models.



Monitor product performance and collect feedback to support continuous improvement.



Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and applicable regulatory requirements related to data products.



Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).



3+ years of experience in product ownership, business analysis, or data management within a digital environment.



TECHNICAL SKILLS



Must Have



Ability to document business requirements and translate them into clear technical requirements.



Ability to make data-driven decisions and support business collaboration.



Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.



Ability to manage projects effectively and flexibly and adapt when goals or needs change.



Ability to organize work using a software ticketing system (preferred: Azure DevOps; experience with JIRA or similar tools acceptable).



Ability to summarize technical concepts and clearly communicate them to non-technical stakeholders.



Demonstrated stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.



Excellent oral and written communication skills.



Experience creating and analyzing Salesforce and/or PowerBI reports.



Experience designing, managing, analyzing, testing, or improving software systems.



Experience developing test plans, test cases, and scripts for user acceptance testing (UAT).



Experience working in fast-paced, changing environments.



Experience working within a Scrum/Agile framework.



Proficiency in creating business process documentation and workflow artifacts.



Proven ability to create comprehensive Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and manage requirements for complex data products.



Proven experience as a Business Analyst.



Self-sufficient individual who works collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.



Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.



Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.



Strong facilitation skills with the ability to decompose complex business processes



Strong people skills with the ability to build consensus in high-pressure situations.



Nice To Have



Experience with data visualization tools, analytics platforms, or data engineering concepts.



Familiarity with data governance, privacy, and compliance practices.



Knowledge of cloud data solutions and digital product development.



Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Project Management (CPM), or Scrum/Agile certifications.
