Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 SME Consultant with strong expertise in tenant management, governance, and enterprise administration. The consultant will be responsible for managing and optimizing the organization's Microsoft 365 tenant, ensuring security, compliance, scalability, and operational efficiency.

This role requires deep technical expertise in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, identity management, and enterprise collaboration platforms. The consultant will work closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams to support enterprise-wide Microsoft 365 initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Microsoft 365 Tenant Administration

  • Manage and administer enterprise **Microsoft 365 tenant environments.
  • Configure tenant settings, domains, subscriptions, and service configurations.
  • Implement governance models, policies, and lifecycle management for tenant services.
  • Manage tenant-level configurations including security, compliance, and collaboration services.

Identity & Access Management

  • Implement and manage identity solutions using Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD).
  • Configure Conditional Access, MFA, and identity protection policies.
  • Manage user provisioning, role-based access control (RBAC), and directory synchronization.

Collaboration & Messaging Platforms

  • Administer and optimize core Microsoft services such as:
    • Microsoft Teams
    • SharePoint Online
    • Exchange Online
    • OneDrive
  • Implement collaboration governance, external sharing policies, and lifecycle management.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement security and compliance policies using:
    • Microsoft Defender for Office 365
    • Microsoft Purview
  • Manage data protection, retention policies, and compliance configurations.
  • Ensure tenant security posture aligns with enterprise security frameworks.

Endpoint & Device Management

  • Manage device compliance and endpoint policies using Microsoft Intune.
  • Configure device enrollment, mobile device management (MDM), and application protection policies.

Tenant Migration & Optimization

  • Support tenant-to-tenant migrations, domain consolidation, and service optimization.
  • Perform tenant health assessments and recommend improvements.
  • Optimize licensing, resource usage, and governance frameworks.

Automation & Monitoring

  • Develop automation using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API.
  • Monitor service health, tenant performance, and security alerts.
  • Provide troubleshooting and root cause analysis for tenant-related issues.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8 12+ years of IT experience with focus on Microsoft ecosystem.
  • 5+ years of experience managing enterprise Microsoft 365 tenants.
  • Deep expertise in:
    • Microsoft 365 administration
    • Microsoft Entra ID
    • Exchange Online
    • Microsoft Teams
    • SharePoint Online
    • Microsoft Intune
  • Experience with tenant governance, RBAC, and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of PowerShell scripting and automation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft certifications such as:
    • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
    • Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate
  • Experience with large enterprise tenants (10,000+ users).
  • Experience implementing Zero Trust security architecture.
