Summary

The Industrial Engineer plans the utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve the efficiency of warehouse, manufacturing, and/or logistics operations. This role supports equipment, parts, and supply operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost, and environmental goals.

Position Responsibilities
May include:
  • Analyze equipment capacity based on forecasted demand, product design changes, current equipment, and performance.
  • Establish standards for process routings and create new routings according to those standards.
  • Analyze workforce utilization, facility layout, and operational data to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Assist in documenting and establishing work measurement programs and analyze work samples to develop standards for labor and material utilization.
  • Follow directions to perform capacity analysis.
  • Maintain routings according to Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) under close direction and following a defined process.
  • Communicate with immediate team members and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate project work internally within the department and externally with other departments to ensure on-time completion within budget.
  • Establish continuous improvement goals and execute action plans.
  • Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.

Knowledge & Skills
  • Basic knowledge of (or desire to learn) manufacturing processes.
  • Limited knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and database concepts.
  • Basic understanding of Lean, Kaizen, and 5S principles preferred.
  • Basic understanding of Routing and Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Familiarity with Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery (SQCD) metrics.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic knowledge or desire to learn project management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with teams and build positive relationships.
  • Good judgment, strong work ethics, and integrity on the job.

Experience
  • 0-2 years of experience in manufacturing, logistics, warehouse design, or process improvement.

Education/Certification
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field required.

  • No

  • Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
