(TBM) Expense Transparency Consultant

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and execute TBM Expense Transparency activities across IT divisions, including Product Management, Infrastructure & Operations, Cybersecurity, and other IT service towers.
• Develop, maintain, and refine TBM financial models, cost allocation models, service tower mappings, and Run/Innovate categorizations.
• Partner with IT Service Owners, Finance teams, and business stakeholders to validate financial inputs and improve understanding of IT cost drivers.
• Maintain and support financial reporting and dashboards used to communicate IT spending, cost trends, and expense insights.
• Validate, enhance, and update cost allocation and chargeback methodologies to improve financial transparency.
• Analyze large and complex financial datasets to identify cost trends, variances, allocation issues, and opportunities for improved cost management.
• Ensure financial reporting is accurate, consistent, defensible, and transparent by refining data sources, mapping logic, allocation rules, and cost-modeling assumptions.
• Translate complex IT financial information into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement of TBM frameworks, reporting processes, and financial transparency practices.

Job Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in Technology Business Management (TBM), IT Financial Management (ITFM), IT cost transparency, IT billing, or chargeback initiatives.
• Strong understanding of IT financial operations, including:
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Cost allocation
  • Financial reporting and analysis
  • IT billing and chargeback
  • Cost modeling
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data modeling, automation, and scenario analysis.
• Experience working with large and complex financial datasets.
• Ability to develop, maintain, and analyze financial models and allocation methodologies.
• Strong understanding of the relationship between IT services, cost drivers, expenses, and business value.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with IT, Finance, Service Owners, and business stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications / Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with TBM tools, cost modeling, and cost transparency reporting.
• Experience creating or supporting Power BI dashboards for financial or IT cost reporting.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow, particularly:
  • IT Financial Management (ITFM)
  • CMDB
  • Application Portfolio Management (APM)
  • Service taxonomy
  • Request and asset workflows
• Experience with PeopleSoft Financials or similar ERP/financial systems.
• Knowledge of TBM allocation methodologies, service mapping, and cost transparency frameworks.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
• Prior experience supporting large, complex enterprise IT environments is a plus.
