Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a VAVE Engineer located in Fontana, CA.
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the VAVE Engineer role will focus on optimizing product value by reducing costs while maintaining and improving the functionality and quality of our product. This role will involve collaboration with internal teams and external customers to turn insights into actionable engineering improvements.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the VAVE Engineer role will focus on optimizing product value by reducing costs while maintaining and improving the functionality and quality of our product. This role will involve collaboration with internal teams and external customers to turn insights into actionable engineering improvements.
- Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design products that can be manufactured.
- Analyze and improve design/build concepts to evaluate a producible product definition and integrate across engineering disciplines to drive producibility into the design.
- Implementation of technical solutions into the build plan, ensuring production safety and stability, and product reliability.
- Collect and analyze production and engineering data to identify problems and investigate root causes when product quality and/or production efficiency is outside our standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems that arise during production to ensure the integrity of the product and to minimize impact on quality, delivery and cost.
- Coordinate with production and design engineers ensure integration of interfacing components (structures, interiors, electrical systems etc.).
- Regularly engage with production department processes to identify and implement opportunities to improve the efficiency and reliability of build plan.
- Responsible for all aspects of design including FEA, CAD, specifications, agency requirements, tolerance analysis, DFMEA/PFMEA, stress analysis.
- Technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop manufacturing and assembly processes, tooling, assembly fixtures, and procedures.
- Develop and implement process improvements using Lean methodologies.
- Interaction with engineering on mechanical & electrical design teams to enhance designs for production readiness and optimization.
- Works closely with multi-disciplined teams to understand functional requirements, contributes to generation of innovative ideas, support & develop project plans and implements appropriate solutions.
- Review customer specifications to drawings and bill of materials for assigned projects, implement engineering changes as driven by product requirement.
- Uses computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create detailed drawings of the product, including mechanical 2D fabrication (sheet metal and structural) and 3D assembly drawings.
- Provide engineering support to Project Management, Design Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and Production departments during all stages of manufacturing.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Experience/Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.
- At least 5-7 years of related work experience.
- 5+ years' experience using solid modeling CAD design tools (Solidworks preferred)
- MEP Design experience a plus.
- Proficient in the use of SolidWorks to create 2D and 3D fabrication and assembly drawings.
- General understanding in mechanical and structural FEA.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- knowledge of standard electrical testing and measuring equipment.
- Knowledge of Electrical Safety Procedures, NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI Codes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
