Specialty Engineer I - Telecom Infrastructure Design (Hybrid, Cary, NC) - Full-Time
We are hiring a Specialty Engineer I to join a leading global digital infrastructure organization based in Cary, NC (hybrid). This is a full-time opportunity supporting the design and development of telecommunications infrastructure, including fiber, power systems, in-building solutions, and small data centers. You'll work across civil, structural, and electrical engineering disciplines to help build scalable, next-generation connectivity solutions.

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
1-2+ years of engineering experience (telecom, construction, or infrastructure preferred)
Experience with AutoCAD and ability to learn Civil 3D, Revit, or iBwave
Understanding of engineering fundamentals (structural, civil, electrical, or mechanical systems)
Ability to interpret and apply building codes and engineering standards
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Desired Skills & Experience
Experience with Revit, Civil 3D, or iBwave
Exposure to telecom tower design, fiber infrastructure, or network connectivity solutions
Knowledge of stormwater, structural, mechanical, or power system design
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) certification
Field or construction engineering experience
Experience supporting cross-functional engineering teams
What You Will Be Doing
Develop engineering designs for telecom infrastructure including civil sites, buildings, and network systems
Perform engineering analysis (structural, drainage, heat load, or power systems)
Create construction drawings and design documents using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools
Conduct site walks and gather field data to support design strategies
Ensure designs meet code compliance and technical standards
Support full project lifecycle from concept through implementation
Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors (including survey teams)
Maintain digital documentation and site records post-construction
