Network Access Control (NAC) Implementation Engineer

Remote Resource

Contract - 12 months

Role Summary

The Network Access Control Implementation Engineer will lead onsite deployment, configuration, and knowledge transfer activities for the Client NAC implementation. This role will work closely with the client internal network team to configure the NAC platform, establish access control policies, and ensure a successful phased rollout.

Key Responsibilities

Lead deployment and implementation of the NAC solution (SaaS or on-prem)
Configure NAC integration with:

Extreme Networks wired/wireless infrastructure
University authentication systems
Active Directory / LDAP / Identity services

Design and configure:

Role-based access control policies
Security profiles
VLAN assignments
Guest captive portal
BYOD onboarding workflows
Device registration portal

Support phased implementation:

Wireless NAC rollout (Phase 1)
Wired NAC readiness planning (future phase)

Conduct onsite workshops with university network administrators
Deliver hands-on knowledge transfer and administrator training
Support pilot testing, validation, troubleshooting, and cutover
Prepare implementation documentation and configuration runbooks

Required Skills

NAC platforms (Extreme Control / Aruba ClearPass / Cisco ISE / ForeScout or equivalent)
802.1X authentication
RADIUS / TACACS+
Network segmentation / VLAN design
Captive portal implementation
BYOD onboarding
Wireless security
Identity integration (AD / LDAP / SSO)
DHCP / DNS / PKI fundamentals
Enterprise network troubleshooting

Experience

5+ years in network security engineering
3+ years implementing NAC solutions
Higher education environment experience preferred
Experience with large endpoint environments (20,000+ devices preferred)

Preferred Certifications

CCNP Enterprise / Security
Extreme Networks certification
Aruba / ClearPass certification
CISSP (preferred)
