OT Solutions Architect – MES & SCADA

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced OT Solutions Architect to design, implement, and govern Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) solutions across manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Ignition SCADA, Sepasoft MES, IT/OT integration, industrial cybersecurity, and enterprise architecture.

The candidate will work closely with OT Automation, IT Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Quality, Validation teams, and system integrators to ensure secure, reliable, scalable, and standardized manufacturing solutions aligned with Industry 4.0 initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and govern MES and SCADA solutions across multiple manufacturing sites using Ignition SCADA and Sepasoft MES.

• Develop and maintain enterprise architecture standards, deployment playbooks, reference architectures, and implementation methodologies.

• Ensure alignment with IT/OT architecture standards, infrastructure requirements, and cybersecurity policies.

• Lead solution design reviews and validate architecture deliverables from vendors and system integrators.

• Define secure connectivity and integration patterns between manufacturing systems and enterprise IT platforms.

• Integrate MES/SCADA solutions with historians, Unified Namespace (UNS), analytics platforms, and enterprise applications.

• Apply Purdue Model, ISA-95, industrial DMZ, network segmentation, and Zero Trust security principles.

• Collaborate with OT Automation teams to ensure manufacturing systems can be supported within IT-managed environments.

• Support Industry 4.0 initiatives, including production traceability, electronic Device History Records (eDHR), Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and manufacturing analytics.

• Ensure compliance with FDA-regulated manufacturing requirements, 21 CFR Part 11, electronic records, audit trails, and validation standards.

• Partner with IT Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Quality, and Validation teams to assess risks and support audits.

• Establish reusable solution modules, governance processes, and standardized deployment practices across manufacturing sites.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in MES and SCADA solution architecture.

• Hands-on experience with Ignition SCADA and Sepasoft MES.

• Experience designing and implementing IT/OT integration solutions in manufacturing environments.

• Knowledge of industrial automation systems, manufacturing operations, and industrial networking.

• Understanding of Purdue Model, ISA-95, industrial DMZ, network segmentation, and Zero Trust principles.

• Experience integrating MES/SCADA with historians, UNS, analytics, and enterprise systems.

• Experience creating architecture diagrams, high-level designs, technical specifications, and deployment standards.

• Knowledge of OT cybersecurity, infrastructure, and secure industrial connectivity.

• Experience with FDA-regulated manufacturing environments and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing initiatives.

• Knowledge of OEE, traceability, eDHR, electronic records, and manufacturing analytics.

• Experience leading vendor and system integrator engagements.

• Experience developing reusable architecture frameworks and multi-site rollout playbooks.

• Strong communication, stakeholder management, technical leadership, and problem-solving skills.
