About the Role
The IV&V Test Fixture and Hardware Integration Engineer will design and build practical, reusable test solutions that allow IV&V teams to stimulate, monitor, and verify hardware card behavior without requiring full system setups.
This position will focus on creating configurable test fixtures and interfaces for FPGA-based hardware, software-integrated cards, and mixed I/O boards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build configurable test fixtures for module cards, including FPGA-only cards, FPGA + software cards, and mixed I/O boards.
- Create interfaces that allow IV&V teams to stimulate, monitor, and verify card behavior without relying on full system integration.
- Support digital, analog, communications, and backplane/chassis interfaces.
- Perform signal-level debugging when system behavior does not meet expectations.
- Develop light test automation using Python, LabVIEW, TestStand, or similar tools.
- Translate IV&V requirements into practical, reusable hardware setups rather than one-off builds.
- Support hands-on lab validation, troubleshooting, and hardware integration activities.
Preferred Background
- Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop or embedded systems testing.
- Familiarity with FPGA board-level testing, even if not the FPGA design owner.
- Experience developing custom test equipment, test fixtures, or validation hardware.
- Strong hands-on lab and debug skills.
- Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other test and measurement equipment.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has strong experience in FPGA hardware testing, IV&V, test fixture development, and hardware integration. They should be comfortable working with complex hardware modules, debugging signal-level issues, and building reusable test solutions for validation teams.
