Summary

Senior Electrical Engineer (Data Center & Mission-Critical Facilities)

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced, analytical, and forward-thinking Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Advanced Manufacturing and Mission-Critical Facilities group. In this role, you will contribute to the engineering, design, and construction of cutting-edge data centers and complex industrial facilities. You will partner with multi-discipline engineering teams, lead electrical designers, perform rigorous quality reviews of design packages, and collaborate directly with clients, owners, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.

This is a flexible, fully remote position (with optional office access across the U.S.) for a seasoned engineer who excels at technical leadership and complex problem-solving. You will design robust power distribution systems, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), emergency backup systems, grounding, lighting, and low-voltage communications. If you possess a strong background in data center electrical design and a passion for mission-critical infrastructure, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
Electrical Engineering & System Design
Power Distribution Architecture: Engineer and design medium and low-voltage power distribution systems, campus-style power networks, and infrastructure conveyance.
Mission-Critical Systems: Design reliable backup power architectures, including Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, emergency generation, and critical life-safety power configurations.
Comprehensive Facility Design: Develop complete electrical packages including grounding, lighting, power layouts, and low-voltage communications systems for complex industrial and data center environments.
Retrofit & Expansion: Oversee the modification and retrofit of existing building electrical systems to accommodate evolving client technology and capacity requirements.

Technical Leadership & Project Execution
Quality & Scope Management: Perform quality control reviews of design packages, manage project scope, monitor budgets, and ensure adherence to delivery schedules.
Multi-Discipline Collaboration: Work closely with civil, structural, architectural, and mechanical teams in a fast-paced environment to establish design requirements and produce comprehensive construction documents.
Construction & Client Support: Interact directly with clients, stakeholders, and on-site contractors to provide engineering support during construction and commissioning phases.
Team Guidance: Mentor junior staff and lead electrical engineering teams across complex technical deliverables.

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited program.
Professional Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Experience Baseline: Minimum of 6+ years of professional engineering design experience focused on medium/low voltage distribution systems, building electrical infrastructure, and campus-style power networks.
Technical Mastery:
oExtensive knowledge of industrial facility design principles and mission-critical power architectures.
oSolid, working knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code - NEC) regulations and standards.
oFamiliarity with Revit and BIM software workflows for multi-discipline coordination.
Core Competencies: Effective verbal and written communication skills; strong computer literacy; proven leadership abilities to guide engineering teams; willingness to embrace new technical challenges.

Preferred Attributes
Minimum of 3+ years of dedicated data center facility design experience (including exposure to AI factory or hyperscale workloads).
Experience designing large-scale projects on greenfield sites.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and continuous-learning orientation.
