Description SAIC seeks an experienced and energetic Principal Test Engineer to directly support the modernization of the space launch ranges, meeting mission requirements, providing range capabilities, and supporting the Assured Access to Space (AATS) mission. The overarching purpose of the program is to perform system modernization and digital transformation projects that will enable the acceleration of the space launch cadence to enable the Spaceport of the future.
Job Responsibilities:
Document test requirements and verification methodologies in the requirements management system.
Develop comprehensive Test Plans/Procedures/Results supporting hardware and software capability and integration testing to support test events while in a test operation.
Interpret and analyze test plans, procedures, and requirements to configure real-time data collection, displays, real-time event logging, and recording systems
Perform system level checkouts and pre-test validations to verify software, hardware, and data acquisition systems were ready for test execution to support test planning and test readiness reviews.
Direct test lifecycle activities within Agile like environments (Use tools such as JIRA or SharePoint)
Plan test events with all stakeholders (government and non-government entities). Identify Lessons Learned from testing and provide risks and mitigation strategies.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics or equivalent technical discipline and nine (9) years of systems integration and systems engineering related or equivalent experience or Master's degree in an engineering, mathematics, physics or equivalent technical discipline and seven (7) years of systems integration and systems engineering related or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity or experience with Agile software development methodologies, i.e., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe.
- Experience interfacing with and presenting to government customers.
- Experience with government / similar policies, regulations, standards, and procedures.
Experience in using Systems Engineering tools, such as DOORS, Rational Quality Manager, and/or JIRA
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
