As our new Network and Voice Administrator II you will provide support for highly complex VoIP networks including voice and video communications. You will support the testing, administrating, and implementing VoIP network solutions and possess technical knowledge of key VoIP network technologies such as Network Management, Voice over IP (VoIP), Video, and security. You will recommend and get approval for VoIP network design changes which impact all supported sites.
You will diagnose and appropriately handle voice network outages. Resolving these issues in a timely manner requires a combination of technical knowledge to identify and correct the issue or to escalate the issue with the service provider, if necessary.
Specific daily opportunities include the following:
Adhering to and maintaining the voice over internet protocol (VoIP) standards, configurations, dial plan, and quality-of-service reliability (QoS) design used department-wide.
Supporting voice/video/data network projects.
Supporting legacy voice systems and legacy IFB,T-1's, DS3 ect add Programming of voice systems.
Assisting in the evaluation and approval of software tools, hardware, and services used in the delivery of voice, and video conferencing services.
Assisting leadership and senior voice administrators to plan for funding to maintain and upgrade network infrastructure to replace end of life equipment, keep up with future growth, and new technology advancements.
Supporting the development and implementation of advanced VOIP services, including emergency call announcement and routing, call center phone systems, hotlines, and video conferencing.
Lead projects for new and replacing existing phone systems.

This is a skills-based job announcement. The required minimum qualifications and/or education (if substituting for the proven experience, knowledge, and skills), are as follows:
Minimum Qualifications:A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience as a dedicated Network Voice provider in a managed service or medium to large size professional environment.
Substitutions:Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications.
Training or Certification related to the work assigned to the position will be assigned credit towards substitution for experience and/or education, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications.
If the minimum qualifications include a degree requirement, additional appropriate paid or unpaid experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:Relevant years of State Service in a position with similar duties.
Experience in copper cabling 25 pair and cat 6
Three years of professional work experience in information technology network operations and support which includes strong background in the following:
Voice Over IP (VOIP) system administration and Voice system programming
Conferencing systems
Quality of Service (QoS)
Dial plan design and administration
One or more years of professional experience in Cisco router and switch configuration.
Demonstrated excellence in customer service skills.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network.
Professional (CCNP) related to Network/Wireless technologies.
Demonstrated experience using project management methodology.
Conditions of Employment:OIT employees must comply with any screening procedures in place at state agency locations where they might perform work.
A pre-employment background check will be conducted as part of the selection process. Post-employment background checks will be required for specific agencies as business needs dictate, which may include a polygraph exam, fingerprint-based criminal history search, reference checks, and a drug test.
This position may require travel within the specified geographic area, and to locations across the state as needed.

In this role you will provide advanced technical network communications support to State agencies in Southern Colorado (Pueblo, Trinidad, Colorado Springs etc.). This support will be both remote and on-site. As such, candidate will need to be willing and able to travel to various work sites in Southern Colorado, potentially with little advance notice.
