Lead Data Scientist should demonstrate expertise in classical Machine Learning and possess production experience in at least one of the following domains: NLP (Natural Language Processing), CV (Computer Vision), Time Series, MLE/MLOps (Machine Learning Engineering/Operationalization), Recommendation Systems.

Please note that working from the EPAM office 3 days per week is required.This position offers remote setup with the flexibility to work from any location in Georgia, whether it's your home, well-equipped offices in Tbilisi and Batumi or a coworking space in Kutaisi.
Responsibilities
- Shape AI/ML driven solutions for EPAM's clients and teams
- Propose solutions and strategies to address business challenges
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business value to clients
- Stay updated with advancements in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of production experience in Data Science and Machine Learning
- Track record of leading and mentoring engineering teams
- Expertise in at least one domain: Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLM), Machine Learning Engineering, Time Series Analysis, Generative AI (GenAI)
- Proficiency in Deep Learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Background in the Python ecosystem and data science libraries including pandas, scikit-learn, numpy
- Skills in handling time series data and developing predictive models
- Familiarity with deploying and optimizing LLMs and GenAI solutions in real-world applications
Nice to have
- Knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure)
- Skills in communication and presentation to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Fluency in English at minimum B2 level
- Familiarity with New Relic and PagerDuty
