Role Overview
The Release Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the deployment of application and platform changes into production, with a strong focus on overnight maintenance windows where timing, accuracy, and risk management are critical. This role ensures that all code releases are properly scheduled, approved, and communicated in advance, and that deployment activities follow established processes, controls, and readiness checks.
Key Responsibilities
Release Planning & Coordination
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee the deployment of application and platform changes into production
- Ensure all code releases are properly scheduled, approved, and communicated in advance
- Confirm release content is validated, dependencies are understood, and implementation plans are complete before production activity begins
- Work closely with development, QA, Platform Engineering, operations, and business stakeholders
Maintenance Window Execution
- Serve as the central point of coordination during the maintenance window
- Guide teams through deployment steps, monitor progress against the release plan, and manage communication throughout the event
- Identify and resolve issues in real time
- Ensure rollback or contingency plans are ready if needed
- Confirm post-deployment validation is completed before the release is considered successful
Continuous Improvement
- Document outcomes, track risks and lessons learned, and refine release processes
- Improve reliability, efficiency, and cross-team coordination over time
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 6-10 years of experience in release management or related roles
- Experience with Jira, GitLab, Chalk, and GECX
- Flexible to support the release schedule/time
- Knowledge and work experience in Contact Center IVR space is preferred
- Gemini Enterprise (GECX) knowledge preferred
Additional Requirements
- No senior-level profiles over 10 years
- Existing/ex-Charter contractors/FTE needs 6 months cooling period as per SoW
- Add LinkedIn profile in the resume for better pre-screening (with candidate's consent)
- 4 days/week in client office is mandatory Remote is not an option
- Flexible to work during offshore overlapping hours in the morning
