Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer with Angular to join a federal project supporting Leidos. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing and developing enterprise-scale web applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular (9+), Kafka, and REST APIs. This role requires expertise in cloud-native application development, microservices architecture, DevOps, and modern UI technologies. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance and attend a final in-person interview.

Required Skills

10+ years of experience in Java/J2EE application development.
Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Angular 9+, and REST APIs.
Experience building Microservices and distributed applications.
Strong experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures.
Expertise in Angular, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, AJAX, jQuery, and responsive UI development.
Experience with React is a plus.
Strong understanding of Single Page Application (SPA) architecture.
Experience with SOAP and RESTful Web Services.
Hands-on experience with Spring Framework (IOC, MVC, Security, Batch), Hibernate, JPA, Spring JDBC, and JEE technologies.
Experience with PostgreSQL, DB2, Tomcat, and WebSphere.
Experience with AWS Cloud and cloud-native application deployment.
Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, Maven, Nexus, SonarQube, Fortify, Jira, and UrbanCode Deploy.
Experience with JUnit, Mockito, PowerMock, TDD, and BDD (Cucumber).
Knowledge of OAuth2/JWT, XML, JSON, CXF, JAX-WS, JAXB, JAXP, Jersey, Axis, and web application security.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Skills

Experience implementing Kafka-based event-driven architectures.
Knowledge of AI technologies and integrating AI-driven capabilities into enterprise applications.
Experience implementing Section 508 accessibility standards.
Experience writing technical design documents and white papers.
Prior experience supporting Federal or State Government IT projects.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and REST APIs.
Develop scalable, cloud-native applications following Twelve-Factor App principles.
Design and implement responsive, Section 508-compliant user interfaces.
Build and maintain Microservices and event-driven solutions using Kafka.
Develop SOAP and REST-based web services.
Deploy and support applications in AWS cloud environments.
Implement CI/CD pipelines and ensure high code quality using modern DevOps tools.
Perform unit testing using JUnit, Mockito, and PowerMock.
Participate in architecture discussions and provide technical recommendations.
Mentor junior developers and support cross-functional Agile teams.
Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance.
Ensure secure coding standards and address security vulnerabilities.

Qualifications

Master's Degree + 5 years of experience, OR
Bachelor's Degree + 7 years of experience, OR
13+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

Additional Requirements

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
Must be willing to work onsite in Woodlawn, MD, five days per week.
Final interview will be conducted in person.
Candidates unable to attend an in-person interview should not be submitted.
