Job DetailsAbout the Opportunity
A nationally recognized engineering and consulting organization is seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Specialist to support large-scale mission critical and data center projects throughout the United States. This position offers the flexibility of remote work while requiring extensive travel to project sites.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical construction, commissioning, testing, and quality assurance of critical power infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections and quality assurance reviews throughout various commissioning phases.
- Verify installation, startup, testing, and operational readiness of electrical systems and equipment.
- Review project documentation, specifications, submittals, and testing reports for compliance.
- Generate and maintain commissioning documentation including
- Utilize project management and quality control software to document activities and track project progress.
- Participate in commissioning readiness reviews and milestone inspections.
- Identify deficiencies, document findings, and assist project teams with issue resolution.
- Maintain compliance with applicable industry standards, codes, and project requirements.
- Support commissioning managers and project teams throughout project execution.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of electrical power distribution systems commonly utilized in mission critical facilities.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively or reside near active project locations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Background
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Trade school certification, electrical license, or equivalent technical training considered highly valuable.
- Experience within electrical construction, commissioning, startup, testing, or field engineering environments.
- Prior exposure to data center, mission critical, industrial, utility, or large commercial projects preferred.
