RabbitMQ Infrastructure Architect / SME

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a RabbitMQ Infrastructure Architect/SME in New York, NY.

Responsibilities:
* Design and guide implementation of on-premises RabbitMQ architectures, including clustering, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR)
* Partner with infrastructure and platform teams to integrate RabbitMQ with VMware-based environments and enterprise storage/replication solutions
* Advise on operationalization and production readiness, including: Monitoring and alerting strategies; Runbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs); NOC handoff and support models
* Collaborate with internal account and delivery teams to: Define initial architecture direction; Develop a resourcing and execution plan; Identify and mitigate architectural risks and assumptions early
* Participate in focused architecture working sessions with client technical stakeholders
* Support rapid delivery of a minimally viable, production-ready HA deployment for pilot use
* Validate design decisions to minimize rework and additional discovery cycles

REQUIREMENTS:
* Proven experience designing and implementing RabbitMQ in clustered, highly available, on-prem environments
* Hands-on experience working with VMware infrastructure, including compute, networking, and storage
* Strong understanding of HA/DR strategies for messaging platforms
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work across architecture, infrastructure, and operations teams
* Ability to translate architecture into operationally sound solutions suitable for enterprise production environments

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience supporting or scaling retail, POS, or high-throughput transactional messaging workloads
* Prior experience supporting pilot-to-production transitions under tight timelines
* Familiarity with enterprise storage replication technologies

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
