This is an Information Technology (IT) position that provides oversight, guidance, and support to program and project managers. This role will be familiar with industry-leading project management methodologies and governance processes to facilitate the delivery of projects. The focus will be on providing leadership to experienced program and project managers and offering guidance on project management functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and guidance to experienced program and project managers to keep projects on track.
- Offer support and best practices on the project management methodology and toolset used in the Project Management Office.
- Create and maintain project artifacts, including Project Timelines, Risk & Issue Logs, Communication Plans, and Stakeholder Registers.
- Drive Systems Integration delivery projects from third-party vendors to acceptance and project closure.
- Deliver project scope while adhering to and optimizing schedule, costs, and resources.
- Work with vendors to ensure the successful delivery of contract deliverables.
- Prepare and present executive-level project communications, project tracking, and stakeholder management.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Mediate between business units that may have conflicting requirements.
- Collaborate with technical and functional teams to develop technical specifications and other solution-supporting documents.
Required Qualifications
Experience:- 7 years of experience in leading and managing seasoned program and project management staff.
- 7 years of experience with general IT SDLC processes.
- 7 years of experience creating and maintaining project artifacts (Project Timeline, Risk & Issue Log, etc.).
- 5 years of experience in implementing Enterprise Systems Integration projects.
Skills:- Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with peers and executive staff.
- Skilled in business process creation, gathering requirements from business divisions, and documenting AS-IS and TO-BE process flows.
- Skilled in facilitating large group meetings with internal and external resources.
- Ability to educate business unit staff on standardized processes.
- Creative thinking to solve issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with one or more of the state of Texas government agencies.
- Experience with multivendor and software professional services for communication service provider or enterprise customers.
- PMP certification is a plus.
- Virtualization and networking technology certifications.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $20.00 and $75.00 per hour, and the bill rate is up to $110.00 per hour. Specific compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
