We are seeking a Senior HCL DX Developer with strong expertise in enterprise-grade Java development and content management. This role focuses on building and optimizing digital experiences on the HCL Digital Experience platform (v9.5+).
You will be responsible for end-to-end development of custom portlets, WCM components, and modern script applications. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who can bridge complex backend Java logic with modern frontend content delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain server-side components using Java (JDK 8+) and portlet standards such as Java Portlet Specification JSR 286
- Architect and implement Web Content Manager (WCM) solutions including authoring templates, presentation templates, and content components
- Build and deploy Script Applications using modern JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js within the DX ecosystem
- Deploy and configure applications on WebSphere Application Server and leverage DX v9.5 cloud-native capabilities (including DXClient for CI/CD automation)
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs to connect HCL DX with external enterprise systems
- Optimize performance by improving WCM rendering, caching strategies, and portlet efficiency
Technical Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with HCL Digital Experience (formerly IBM WebSphere Portal)
- Strong proficiency in Java (JDK 8+) and enterprise design patterns
- Hands-on experience with DX versions 9.0 and 9.5; containerization experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
- Expertise in Web Content Manager (WCM), including libraries, permissions, APIs/SPIs, and personalization (PZN)
- Experience with tools such as WebSphere Application Server, Maven, and Git
- Solid frontend knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and Script Application framework
