Role Overview
We are seeking a Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) Engineer to lead the design, development, and operationalization of an organization's PQC program. This role will serve as the architect and hands-on engineer responsible for enabling a secure transition from classical cryptography to quantum-resistant standards. The ideal candidate will help define the PQC roadmap, drive enterprise cryptographic transformation, and implement quantum-safe solutions aligned with evolving industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the enterprise-wide PQC strategy and roadmap.
- Establish PQC governance models, policies, and cryptographic standards.
- Lead the development of a cryptographic inventory and risk prioritization framework.
- Partner with CISO, architecture, product, and compliance teams to embed PQC into broader programs.
- Lead end-to-end PQC migration planning, including discovery, dependency mapping, and prioritization.
- Design and implement quantum-resistant cryptographic solutions (e.g., ML-KEM, ML-DSA).
- Build and maintain cryptographic services, including key management systems and PKI modernization.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert on PQC across engineering, risk, and business teams.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Cryptography, Mathematics, or a related field is required.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in cryptography engineering, cybersecurity engineering, PKI, secure software development, or network security is required.
Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), key management systems, and secure protocols (TLS, SSH, IPSec) is necessary. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Rust is also required. A strong understanding of classical cryptography (RSA, ECC), quantum vulnerabilities, PQC algorithms, and standards is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PQC migration programs or crypto inventory tooling.
- Knowledge of cloud security architectures (Azure/AWS/Google Cloud Platform) and key management strategies.
- Familiarity with NIST PQC standards and migration guidance.
- Experience in cryptographic discovery, automation, and performance benchmarking.
- Contributions to cryptographic research, standards, or open-source projects.
