Senior AWS HPC Backend Developer (100% Remote - but should be flexible to travel to client site as requested by the client)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced AWS HPC Backend Developer to build and optimize high-performance computing (HPC) solutions on AWS. You''ll focus on backend development for HPC clusters, leveraging Rust, Python, and C++ in a fast-paced environment. Strong AWS infrastructure skills, especially EKS and Terraform, are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain backend services for HPC workloads using Rust (primary), Python, and C++.

Design, deploy, and optimize HPC clusters on AWS, including container orchestration and storage.

 Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) with Terraform.

Optimize databases for performance in HPC environments.

Collaborate with clients on AWS-based solutions, with flexibility for on-site travel as needed.

Required Technical Skills

Backend Development (Core Must-Haves):

Strong proficiency in Rust (key indicator of success in our HPC environment), Python, and C++.

Experience with High Performance Computing (HPC) clusters (highly preferred).

Database design and optimization (preferred).

AWS Infrastructure & IaC (Priority Order):

Container orchestration on Amazon EKS.

Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.

Storage solutions including EFS and FSx for Lustre.

Core AWS services: EC2, S3, Lambda.

Qualifications

5+ years in backend development with AWS and HPC exposure.

Proven ability to deliver high-performance, scalable systems.

Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to client needs.

Strong communication for remote collaboration and occasional travel.

Nice-to-Haves

Prior work in scientific computing, simulations, or large-scale data processing.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus).
