Summary
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle DBA with strong AWS cloud experience for a contract-to-hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will lead the migration of on-premise Oracle databases to AWS cloud infrastructure and support heterogeneous database migrations to PostgreSQL.
This role requires strong expertise in Oracle database administration, AWS cloud services, and database migration strategies. The consultant will be responsible for planning and executing migration strategies, designing AWS-based database architectures, and ensuring the performance and reliability of production databases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead migration of on-premise Oracle databases to AWS cloud environments
- Design and implement database solutions using AWS services such as RDS, EC2, and S3
- Utilize AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) for database migration activities
- Assess current on-premise database environments and recommend AWS architecture
- Plan and execute migration strategies including data transfer, testing, and optimization
- Perform database maintenance, monitoring, and performance tuning for Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c)
- Manage database backups, recovery processes, and high availability configurations
- Work with technologies such as Oracle Data Guard, RAC, and GoldenGate
- Troubleshoot database issues and ensure the stability of production environments
- Support heterogeneous database migrations, particularly Oracle to PostgreSQL
Required Skills:
- Strong experience as an Oracle DBA
- Experience with AWS cloud services (RDS, EC2, S3)
- Hands-on experience with AWS Database Migration Service (DMS)
- Expertise in Oracle database administration (11g, 12c, 19c)
- Experience with Oracle Data Guard, RAC, and GoldenGate
- Strong database performance tuning and optimization experience
- Experience with heterogeneous database migrations (Oracle to PostgreSQL)
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
