About the Role
Russell Tobin is partnering with a leading global beverage company to hire a Senior Systems Engineer to join their Global Product Team. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives at the intersection of product development, systems integration, and cross-functional leadership.
As the technical product owner, you will drive the development of innovative consumer beverage systems—ensuring all features, functionality, and stakeholder requirements are delivered on time and within budget. You will collaborate closely with global teams, including international development centers and manufacturing partners, to bring products from concept through production.
This position offers a flexible hybrid schedule, requiring at least 3 days onsite in Burlington, MA, with collaboration across multiple time zones.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate consumer and stakeholder needs into detailed product and system requirements
- Decompose system-level requirements into subsystems, modules, and components
- Design and develop system architectures to support product functionality
- Manage interfaces between subsystems and coordinate with platform owners
- Lead and define R&D initiatives to support innovation and program goals
- Support risk analysis, mitigation strategies, and validation planning
- Guide engineering teams using structured methodologies (e.g., LAMDA, DMAIC)
- Drive data-informed decision-making using Six Sigma tools and methods
- Mentor team members on continuous improvement and problem-solving techniques
- Participate hands-on in prototyping, testing, and development activities
- Communicate progress, risks, and milestones to senior leadership
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering
- 10+ years of experience in engineering, preferably in high-volume consumer product development
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification (or willingness to obtain Black Belt)
- Experience with statistical tools such as JMP, Minitab, or R
- Advanced 3D modeling experience (SolidWorks preferred)
- Strong understanding of systems modeling and finite element methods
- Experience leading DFMEA and developing validation plans
- Proven ability to build prototypes, test fixtures, and run experiments
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to work onsite in Burlington, MA at least 3 days per week
- Willingness to travel internationally (10–20%, typically in 2-week intervals)
Preferred Experience
- Systems-level engineering experience integrating multidisciplinary subsystems
- Experience working across electrical, software, and mechanical domains
- Background in full product lifecycle development (concept through production)
- Balance of requirements management and hands-on engineering analysis
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $76,400 – $140,000 (based on experience and qualifications)
