Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client in Redmond, WA is seeking a hands-on Electrical Test Engineer to support the characterization and testing of semiconductor devices and RF components in a laboratory environment. This role is ideal for candidates with experience working with sensitive electronic samples, RF measurement systems, and automated test setups. The Cryo Test Engineer will be responsible for performing electrical measurements, troubleshooting test equipment, analyzing data, and supporting advanced semiconductor research and development efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
* Characterize semiconductor devices and RF components using industry-standard laboratory equipment
* Perform electrical measurements on samples such as Hall bars, Van der Pauw structures, RF resonators, RF amplifiers, and printed circuit boards (PCBs)
* Conduct sample preparation, handling, and measurement activities while adhering to ESD safety procedures
* Work with small, fragile, and ESD-sensitive components to prevent damage and ensure measurement integrity
* Cool down and prepare samples for electrical characterization and testing
* Develop, modify, and troubleshoot basic Python or MATLAB scripts for data collection, analysis, visualization, and automation
* Document test procedures, results, and observations to support engineering and research teams
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, and Research groups

Set up, operate, and troubleshoot test equipment including:
* DC Source Meters
* Lock-in Amplifiers
* Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs)
* Oscilloscopes
* Spectrum Analyzers
* Digital Multimeters

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline
* Experience working in a laboratory environment characterizing semiconductor devices or RF components
* Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment, including DC source meters, lock-in amplifiers, and VNAs
* Proficiency with Python or MATLAB for plotting, scripting, and basic troubleshooting
* Experience working with ESD-sensitive components and following ESD handling procedures
* Experience handling small and fragile samples in a laboratory setting
* Experience cooling down and preparing samples for measurement activities
* Experience testing, debugging, or validating printed circuit boards (PCBs)

Experience testing and measuring devices such as:
* Hall bars
* Van der Pauw structures
* RF resonators
* RF amplifiers

Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field
* Experience supporting advanced research, semiconductor development, or RF device characterization projects

Experience working with cryogenic measurement systems such as:
* 4 Kelvin (4K) systems
* Variable Temperature Insert (VTI) systems
* Millikelvin (mK) electrical measurement systems

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
