Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Oracle professional to lead and support the migration of our onpremises Oracle Database environment and Oracle APEX applications to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with cloud migrations, strong technical depth in Oracle technologies, and the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth, secure, and efficient transition. This role will be responsible for assessing our current architecture, planning the migration approach, executing the database and APEX migration, optimizing the cloud environment, and documenting and transitioning the solution to internal staff.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the endtoend migration of Oracle Database and Oracle APEX assets from onpremises environments to OCI.

Conduct environment assessments, including data dictionary composition, character set remediation, database configuration, APEX applications, dependencies, integrations, and network topology.

Develop migration strategies and plans, including timelines, risk identification, and mitigation approaches.

Execute database migration tasks using tools such as Oracle Data Pump, RMAN, ZeroDowntime Migration (ZDM), SQL Developer, or comparable methods.

Migrate, test, and validate APEX applications, including workspaces, application components, REST modules, authentication, and supporting schemas.

Configure and optimize OCI components such as Database Services, APEX Service, Object Storage, IAM, networking, monitoring, and logging.

Troubleshoot performance, connectivity, and configuration issues across the migration lifecycle.

Develop and document operational procedures, architecture diagrams, and postmigration support guidelines.

Collaborate closely with DBAs, developers, security teams, network engineers, and business stakeholders.

Provide knowledge transfer and training to internal teams following the migration.

Minimum Qualifications

Demonstrated experience migrating Oracle Databases and/or APEX applications to cloud platforms (OCI preferred).

Strong handson experience with Oracle Database administration (12c or later), including performance tuning, backup/recovery, and security.

Proficiency with Oracle APEX development or administration, including application migration and troubleshooting.

Experience with Oracle migration tools (Data Pump, RMAN, GoldenGate, ZDM, or equivalent).

Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills.

Experience with scripting for automation (Bash, Python, or PowerShell).

Familiarity with cloud networking concepts, including VCNs, subnets, VPNs, routing, and access controls.

Understanding of identity and access management best practices.

Excellent analytical, problemsolving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience deploying or administering Oracle Cloud Infrastructure services.

Experience configuring ORDS in cloud environments.

Knowledge of CI/CD practices for database or APEX deployments.

Familiarity with Terraform or other infrastructureascode tools.

Experience modernizing legacy Oracle environments or refactoring APEX applications.

Relevant Oracle or OCI certifications.

Knowledge Skills Abilities

Knowledge of Oracle Database architecture, performance tuning, and security principles.

Knowledge of Oracle APEX application architecture and deployment workflows.

Skill in designing and executing migration plans with minimal business disruption.

Skill in identifying and resolving performance and configuration issues.

Ability to communicate complex technical processes to both technical and nontechnical audiences.

Ability to work collaboratively across technical teams and manage multiple priorities.

Ability to document systems, processes, and configurations clearly and thoroughly.
