About the RoleWe're building modern, data-driven applications that support mission users across the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) environment.
This role focuses on creating high-quality front-end experiences using
React or similar JavaScript libraries and Next.JS or similar frameworks. You'll work closely with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to bring structured data into clean, performant, and intuitive interfaces that directly support operational decision-making.
There are also
active opportunities to integrate AI into user workflows from enhancing data exploration to automating insight generation. If you're motivated to apply AI in IC environments that are actively looking to adopt it, this is a strong place to do that.
What You'll DoBuild Mission-Focused Data Applications- Develop responsive web applications using React, Next.js, or similar frameworks
- Create reusable components for dashboards, charts, and analytical workflows
- Design interfaces that make complex and enterprise datasets easy to navigate
Work Across the Data Stack- Collaborate with data engineers to understand schemas, pipelines, and data models (e.g., SQL Server, Data Vault, or similar)
- Shape and transform data as needed for effective presentation in the UI
Contribute to AI-Enabled Workflows- Support integration of AI-driven capabilities into analytics applications
- Work with teams exploring applied AI use cases within IC mission systems
Improve Performance and Usability- Optimize applications for performance in data-heavy environments
- Continuously refine user experience based on mission feedback and operational needs
Required SkillsWhat You BringFrontend Development- Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and a modern framework such as React, Vue, or Angular
- Familiarity with Next.js or similar full-stack frontend frameworks
- Experience building applications with dynamic or data-intensive interfaces
Data and Visualization- Experience with BI platforms for dashboard awareness
- Working knowledge of SQL or similar query languages
Mission & Environment Awareness- Experience working in U.S. Government, DoD, or Intelligence Community environments, or similar regulated environments
- Familiarity with secure development practices and role-based data access patterns
Approach- Focus on usability, performance, and clarity
- Ability to collaborate across frontend, backend, and data teams
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Desired SkillsNice to Have Additional Experience - Experience supporting NGA
- Cloud platforms such as AWS (S3, Lambda, Glue) or similar
- Data visualization libraries such as D3.js, Chart.js, Recharts, or equivalent
- Familiarity with data warehouse or Data Vault concepts
- Exposure to applied AI tools, frameworks, or integrations in production environments
- Integrate with APIs, data services, and query layers supporting enterprise data platforms
