Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with strong SQL and analytical skills to support and optimize modern cloud data platforms. While the role has DBA responsibilities, candidates with a Data Analyst background and solid SQL plus basic admin skill are also suitable.The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift and Google BigQuery, along with performance tuning, cost optimization, and collaboration with data engineering and analytics teams.
Key Responsibilities
Database Administration & Operations
Manage, monitor, and optimize Amazon Redshift and Google BigQuery environments
Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
Handle user access, security controls, and compliance
Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and cost monitoring
Architecture & Design
Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams on scalable data warehouse design
Recommend partitioning, clustering, and distribution strategies
Contribute to data modeling and schema design best practices for analytics use cases
Automation & Optimization
Build scripts and automation for monitoring, deployment, and maintenance
Optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for performance and cost efficiency
Implement observability and workload management tools
Required Skills & Qualifications
7–8+ years of experience as a DBA, Database Administrator (Cloud Data Platforms) with admin exposure
Strong hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift and Google BigQuery
Excellent SQL skills with query optimization experience
Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as dbt, Airflow, Talend, or similar
Knowledge of AWS and Google Cloud Platform cloud environments
Understanding of data security and access controls
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have
Experience in cost optimization for cloud data warehouses
Exposure to automation and scripting
Background supporting analytics and BI workloads
