Role: Operations Business Analyst

Summary:
The Analyst Contractor will support PJM staff across multiple departments within the Operations Division. The role will support a variety of key business functions related to ensuring reliable operations of the Eastern electricity grid. PJM has many initiatives underway to improve day-to-day operations as well as near-term planning, especially in the space of generator operations, with a need to coordinate efforts and ensure goals are aligned.
The Analyst will be mostly in a supportive team environment but be responsible for deliverables such as gathering and documenting requirements, establishing/facilitating business processes, and crafting reports with innovative ways to showcase data/timelines. There are plenty of growth opportunities to interface with other areas within the company, like Natural Gas Market Operations, Day-Ahead/Real-Time Energy Markets, and Risk Forecasting.
Responsibilities
· Workflow Support:
· Establish and maintain a workplan for departmental efforts to help with tracking and ensuring tasks are completed.
· Work with subject matter experts to document use cases and procedures.
· Provide logistical support to further discussions and drive towards solutions.
· Create and maintain various dashboards for visualization of progress with periodic updates to the team.
· Requirements Gathering:
· Capture business requirements and use cases including design specifications, implementation details, and testing approaches.
· Ability to gain high level understanding of requirements and articulate to a variety of audiences and backgrounds.
· Create/review formal documentation and adapt language/style to fit each need.
· Testing:
· Work with team members to write test plans for enhancements to tools and applications.
· Assist with test case execution and documentation of results.

· BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Skilled in use of MS Office suite - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio.
· Good time management and organizational skills to adapt to varying paces of workflow.
· Motivated self-starter who proactively looks for ways to contribute.
Preferred
· Demonstrated working knowledge of Atlassian Confluence and JIRA.
- Data analytic skills and associated visualization tools like Tableau.
- Experience in SQL and relational database interactions.
