Active Directory Engineer

We're looking for an

Experienced Active Directory Engineer to support and modernize our

large, 20-year-old on-premises AD environment. This role focuses on domain

operations, migrations, troubleshooting, and hybrid identity integration with

Entra ID. You'll work on-site in Houston as part of our Cloud Infrastructure

team, driving technical decisions and supporting high-impact enterprise

initiatives.
What You'll Do

• Manage and optimize on-prem Active Directory domains, forests, sites, services, and GPOs.
• Lead large-scale domain migrations, including 35,000+ workstations and legacy M&A domains.
• Support hybrid identity using Azure AD Connect, SSO, Conditional Access, and Entra ID integrations.
• Troubleshoot complex AD issues (replication, DNS, PKI, schema, Kerberos, SYSVOL/DFS-R).
• Create documentation, automation, and PowerShell scripts for monitoring, health, and compliance.
• Partner with security, networking, and application teams to reduce risk and ensure smooth migrations.
• Contribute to planning and roadmaps for domain consolidation and hybrid expansion.

What You Bring

• 8+ years of hands-on AD experience in multi-domain/forest environments.
• Skilled in domain migrations (ADMT, Quest, PowerShell).
• Deep troubleshooting skills across replication, DNS, GPO, PKI, and legacy environments.
• 3+ years in a lead engineering role.
• Experience with hybrid identity (Entra ID, Azure AD Connect, SSO, PTA).
• Strong PowerShell and AD security knowledge.

Preferred

• Microsoft identity-related certifications.
• Experience with Windows Server 2016+, Azure, Intune, or tools like SolarWinds/ManageEngine.
• ITSM experience (ServiceNow) and familiarity with Agile.
• M&A integrations.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $85.00/hr.
