A growing, privately held architectural wood door manufacturer is seeking a Manufacturing Support Engineer for its state-of-the-art production facility. This is a hands-on role focused on solving manufacturing problems and driving process improvement, reporting to the Automation Engineering Manager.
Schedule: Full-time, on the manufacturing floor.
Compensation: $80,000 to $95,000 per year, based on experience, plus bonus eligibility.
What You\'ll Do:
The Manufacturing Support Engineer solves hands-on manufacturing problems to improve day-to-day performance, working closely with Production, Continuous Improvement, Maintenance, and Engineering. This includes developing practical solutions, ensuring improvements are successfully implemented and sustained, and driving teams from problem identification through execution and follow-up.
The role maintains a strong presence on the manufacturing floor, working directly with operators, supervisors, and department leadership to understand and resolve day-to-day process issues, and serves as an escalation resource for problems requiring deeper process analysis after initial Production or Maintenance response. The Manufacturing Support Engineer coordinates efforts to plan, design, develop, and validate manufacturing processes and improvements, working to eliminate waste in key constraint areas and improve safety, quality, productivity, and delivery, while developing and driving metrics in conjunction with Production teams.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
- 3+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in an assembly operation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across all levels of staff
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in wood products manufacturing
- Prior project management experience, start to finish
- Prior capital project experience
