We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Data & Trade Operations Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial markets and trade lifecycles, hands-on experience working with large and complex datasets, and advanced SQL skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing, validating, and transforming data; identifying data-quality issues; developing SQL queries to investigate and resolve problems; and supporting business and operational processes related to financial transactions.

The successful analyst will become a subject-matter expert in the team's data and trade processes, independently investigate complex data issues, develop effective SQL-based solutions, and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and data quality. They will serve as a bridge between business operations, financial markets, data, and technology.

Responsibilities :
  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, discrepancies, data-quality issues, and operational opportunities.
  • Develop and execute complex SQL queries to extract, validate, reconcile, and analyze data.
  • Investigate data issues from source through downstream systems and determine root causes.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the end-to-end lifecycle of a financial trade, from trade execution through processing, settlement, and post-trade activities.
  • Work with financial products including equities, fixed income, and other securities.
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, transformation, and quality-control activities.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, technology teams, developers, and other operational groups to resolve data and system issues.
  • Translate business requirements into technical and data-driven solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce manual work, and increase automation.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and develop innovative solutions using data and technology.
  • Document analysis, processes, requirements, and solutions clearly and effectively.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Manage multiple priorities while meeting established deadlines and service-level expectations.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to develop AI skills and apply them to enhance data analysis, operational efficiency, and problem-solving within the role.
Required Skills :
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience working with data, financial operations, trade operations, business analysis, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets and securities.
  • Solid understanding of the trade lifecycle, including execution, confirmation, clearing, settlement, and related post-trade processes.
  • Knowledge of financial products, particularly equities and fixed income.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, including the ability to independently write complex queries involving multiple tables, joins, aggregations, subqueries, and data validation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with large datasets and identifying data discrepancies or anomalies.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly.
Preferred Skills :
  • Experience in financial services, securities, brokerage, clearing, regulatory operations, or capital markets.
  • Experience with data transformation, ETL processes, data quality, or data governance.
  • Knowledge of additional financial products such as ETFs, derivatives, options, or mutual funds.
  • Experience working with Python, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or other data-analysis tools.
  • Experience working with Jira or other workflow/project-management platforms.
  • Familiarity with APIs, data feeds, or enterprise data systems.
  • Is driven, energetic, and proactive.
  • Takes ownership and follows problems through to resolution.
  • Thinks critically and outside the box rather than simply following established processes.
  • Is naturally curious and enjoys figuring out how systems and data work.
  • Can move comfortably between business requirements, financial concepts, data analysis, and technical solutions.
  • Is comfortable asking questions and challenging existing processes when there is a better way to accomplish something.
  • Works effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Communicates clearly and confidently with both business and technical teams.
  • Has a strong sense of accountability and consistently delivers high-quality work.
