BI Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a BI Engineer in New York, NY.

Key Responsibilities:
* BI Engineer will lead the design, development, governance, and lifecycle management of Tableau dashboards and workbooks
* Establish and enforce Tableau standards, performance optimization practices, and reusable development frameworks
* Architect scalable Tableau data sources and AWS-hosted data integrations to ensure reliability and performance
* Provide technical leadership through code reviews, mentoring, and adoption of new Tableau capabilities
* Manage complex Tableau support issues, performance tuning, and environment-related escalations
* Lead enhancements from requirements through deployment while managing stakeholder expectations
* As a BI Engineer, you will drive automation, self-service capabilities, and dashboard optimization to improve efficiency
* Manage and prioritize the ServiceNow backlog, communicating delivery status and capacity to stakeholders
* Maintain documentation, operational standards, and knowledge-sharing resources
* Identify opportunities to consolidate, retire, or migrate reporting assets to improve platform effectiveness

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field
* 6-12 years of enterprise Tableau development experience, including complex calculated fields, LOD expressions, table calculations, and set actions
* Experience managing Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud administration - including permissions, extract schedules, subscriptions, and site management
* Experience operating within ITSM frameworks (ServiceNow or equivalent) for intake, prioritization, and delivery tracking
* Strong understanding of data modeling principles, star/snowflake schemas, and enterprise data warehouse concepts
* Advanced SQL proficiency (IBM DB2 and/or SQL Server strongly preferred) for data modeling, performance tuning, and custom queries
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
* Proven ability to lead stakeholder engagements, gather requirements, and deliver analytics solutions in regulated environments

Preferred Qualifications:
* Tableau Certified Data Analyst or Tableau Certified Architect / Server Administrator certification
* Healthcare analytics experience supporting health plan (PHP), delivery system (PDS/PMG), clinical quality, or population health domains
* Hands-on experience in AWS-hosted analytics environments, including Redshift, S3-based data lakes, or AWS Glue integration with Tableau
* Experience leading or participating in analytics platform modernization (e.g., migration from on-prem to cloud BI platforms)
* Familiarity with BusinessObjects (BoBJ), SAS, or IBM DataStage as part of a broader enterprise analytics ecosystem
* Exposure to self-service analytics frameworks, data literacy programs, or end-user enablement initiatives at enterprise scale
* Knowledge of HIPAA, HITRUST, or other healthcare regulatory compliance requirements related to data access and reporting

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
