Role: ServiceNow SAM Pro Developer / Architect

Location: McLean, VA/ Plano, TX (Hybrid)

A ServiceNow SAM Pro Architect designs and leads the implementation of Software Asset Management solutions, focusing on , creating technical roadmaps, integrating with discovery tools (SCCM, JAMF, etc.), managing licenses (publisher packs, entitlements, reconciliations), configuring SaaS/custom apps, and ensuring compliance while defining governance and providing user training, all to optimize software spend and risk for enterprises.

Key Responsibilities

• Architecture & Strategy: Develop overall technical strategies, roadmaps, and design standards for SAM Pro implementations, ensuring scalability and security.
• Implementation Leadership: Oversee end-to-end deployment, from initial setup to customization, including publisher packs and plugins.
• Integration: Integrate SAM Pro with discovery sources (e.g., SCCM, JAMF, Intune) and other platforms (Jira, Salesforce, O365, Adobe) via APIs or data imports.
• Data Management: Manage entitlement uploads, data normalization, reconciliation, and lifecycle tracking for software.
• Customization: Configure license metrics (user, consumption), transform maps, scheduled imports, and define taxonomy for non-discoverable software.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with business leaders, IT teams, and service partners to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Governance: Define roles, responsibilities, and processes for managing software assets, ensuring audit readiness.
• Mentorship & Support: Provide technical guidance, create documentation, and train end-users for effective adoption.

Key Skills & Experience

• Deep expertise in ServiceNow SAM Pro (Software Asset Management Professional).
• Strong understanding of ITAM/SAM principles, software licensing models, and compliance.
• Experience with data integration (APIs, Transform Maps, Discovery).
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and CMDB.
• Certification (e.g., ServiceNow SAM Pro Implementer) is often preferred.
