Job Description:
We need someone who builds from scratch and is familiar with Temporal or Cadence. They will accept NO candidates from Banks, insurance and Healthcare companies. SAAS companies only. However, they will need to know about Ansible Towers or AWX. They will need to give examples of complex Ansible playbooks built from scratch and how Argo CD is used. And have strong Architect and backend skills.
Our team is growing rapidly, and we are hiring a DevOps Architect to lead cloud automation and infrastructure engineering initiatives.
This is a hands-on, senior-level role for a well-rounded engineer who combines strong coding ability with deep experience across backend systems, infrastructure, bare metal, and cloud platforms. We are looking for true builders — engineers who understand how systems run end-to-end and can design, automate, and operate modern platforms at scale.
You will play a key role in advancing our Kubernetes adoption, modernizing Infrastructure-as-Code practices, and building scalable, secure cloud environments using automation-first principles.
What You’ll Work On
- Design and implement scalable cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code principles
- Drive standardization and best practices for Terraform, Terragrunt, and Kubernetes environments
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, developer workflows, and platform automation
- Participate in large-scale cloud and Kubernetes adoption initiatives
- Partner with engineering teams to create reliable, secure, and repeatable infrastructure patterns
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to a standardized Terragrunt directory structure organized by account, region, environment, and category for scalable configuration management
- Refactor and migrate legacy Terraform stacks, including moving modules and resources between state files to reduce drift and downtime
- Architect cross-account and cross-cloud deployments using least-privilege RBAC and secure permission models
- Apply DRY principles through Terragrunt wrappers and reusable Terraform modules
- Enforce DRY and consistency across Kubernetes environments using Helm, Kustomize, Tanka, or Jsonnet
- Collaborate with DevOps and application teams to automate and standardize infrastructure deployments across environments
- Help design platforms that account for scalability, reliability, observability, and security from day one
Core Engineering Profile We’re Looking For
This is not a task-based DevOps role. We are looking for a strong engineer first.
You should bring:
- Strong coding ability (Python preferred, or similar languages)
- Experience across a backend + infrastructure + cloud + (ideally) bare metal combination
- A systems mindset — you design with operations, reliability, and scale in mind
- Comfort working at the intersection of software engineering and platform engineering
Required Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies
- Deep experience with Kubernetes in production environments
- Strong expertise with Ansible, including Ansible Tower or AWX (required)
- Experience running Kubernetes workloads on AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and/or Azure
- Solid understanding of Linux administration (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, Ubuntu)
- Experience with cloud-init, image automation, and Linux package management
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins preferred)
- Familiarity with GitOps practices and GitHub Actions (including self-hosted runners)
- Experience with HashiCorp Vault and cloud security best practices
- Experience in integrating automation with tools like Slack, bots, Jira, or similar systems
- Familiarity with Temporal (or Cadence) and HashiCorp Consul
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in complex distributed environments
- Excellent communication skills across global, distributed teams
Bonus Skills (Strong Pluses)
Experience with any of the following will stand out:
- Kong (API gateway / service connectivity)
- Advanced Jenkins pipeline architecture and optimization
- NetScaler (Citrix) load balancers
- DNS architecture, especially AWS Route 53
- Infrastructure monitoring and observability using Grafana
- Artifact repositories such as Nexus or JFrog Artifactory
- Experience working in multi-region, multi-environment cloud architectures
- Experience coordinating across DevOps, architecture, and business stakeholders
What Success Looks Like
You are the kind of engineer who:
- Can design infrastructure that scales without constant rework
- Automates everything that should be automated
- Understands both the application side and the platform side of modern systems
- Raises the bar for infrastructure reliability, security, and developer experience
This is an opportunity to operate as a DevOps Architect-level engineer while staying deeply hands-on — building the foundations that engineering teams rely on every day.
