Summary

Role: AWS Cloud Technical Enablement Lead (Modernization Focus)

Location: Remote local to Hartford is preferred

Duration: Contract-to-Hire

Interviews: 2 rounds

Summary:
NOTE: I would search for a lead person who can moved Cloud AWS Modernization. Not a head down person. Want someone who can speak to Stakeholders

The team is in the early stages of building out a new AWS environment, beginning with an initial AWS 1.0 setup, followed by a broader migration into a more mature AWS 2.0 environment.

This role will play a key part in shaping the strategy and execution of building these environments from the ground up, so flexibility and a hands-on approach are critical.

The ideal candidate should come from a large enterprise environment, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, complex organization

Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) and CI/CD automation is required.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead cloud platform build & enablement (landing zones, IAM, networking, security)
  • Drive AWS modernization & migration programs
  • Implement IaC & CI/CD standards for scalable deployments
  • Establish governance, security guardrails, and compliance frameworks
  • Partner with Cloud CoE, Security, Infra, and Architecture teams
  • Enable app/data teams with reusable cloud patterns & best practices
  • Own operational readiness, SRE practices, and observability

Must Have:

  • 10+ years in Cloud / Platform Engineering / Infrastructure
  • Strong AWS hands-on + architecture experience
  • Expertise in Terraform (IaC) + CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Landing Zones, Governance, Security Guardrails
  • Strong knowledge of Cloud Networking, IAM, Security Controls
  • Proven stakeholder management & leadership skills

Nice to Have:

  • Cloud CoE / Platform Enablement experience
  • Large-scale cloud migration & modernization
  • Exposure to Containers (Kubernetes), Serverless
  • Experience with Observability, SRE, Production Support Models

Technical Stack:

  • Cloud: AWS (Primary), Azure/Google Cloud Platform (Nice)
  • IaC: Terraform
  • CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI
  • Containers: Docker, Kubernetes (EKS)
  • Security: IAM, Guardrails, Encryption, Compliance
  • Networking: VPC, Subnets, Routing, Hybrid Connectivity
  • Observability: CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana
  • Others: Serverless (Lambda), API Gateway

Key Fit:

  • Cloud Modernization Leader (not IC-only)
  • Strong stakeholder communication + strategic mindset
  • Experience building AWS environments from scratch
