Technical Business Analyst | W-2 only

We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst with deep expertise in cards payments, merchant acquiring, and fintech platforms. The ideal candidate must have prior experience working in high-scale fintech environments or with leading payment organizations such as Visa, Stripe, or similar.

This role requires strong technical acumen, hands-on experience with payment systems, APIs, and transaction processing, and the ability to operate within enterprise-grade, high-volume financial platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Functional Analysis

• Gather and translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications
• Define end-to-end payment workflows across card issuing and merchant acquiring systems
• Create user stories, BRDs, FRDs, and integration specifications

Payments & Fintech Domain Expertise

• Strong understanding of card payments ecosystem, including:
• Authorization
• Clearing
• Settlement
• Chargebacks / Disputes
• Hands-on exposure to:
• Merchant onboarding and processing
• Payment gateways and processors
• Digital payments and tokenization
• Familiarity with network rules and compliance standards (PCI DSS)

Technical & Integration Responsibilities

• Work closely with engineering teams on:
• REST / SOAP APIs
• Microservices-based architectures
• Event-driven or real-time transaction systems
• Analyze and document payment message formats including:
• ISO 8583
• JSON / XML payloads
• Support integrations between:
• Payment processors
• Card networks
• Merchant platforms
• Banking systems

Data Analysis & Validation

• Perform data mapping, reconciliation, and transaction validation
• Use SQL to analyze transaction flows and troubleshoot production issues
• Review logs and identify defects in payment processing pipelines

Testing & Implementation

• Develop test strategies and execute:
• Functional testing
• Integration testing
• UAT support
• Validate transaction lifecycle accuracy across systems

Stakeholder & Client Interaction

• Act as liaison between business, product, engineering, and external partners
• Communicate effectively with client-side fintech stakeholders and vendors

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst / Business Systems Analyst
• Mandatory experience in fintech domain, preferably with:
• Visa
• Stripe
• Mastercard, PayPal, Adyen, or similar payment platforms
• Strong expertise in:
• Cards & merchant acquiring systems
• Payment transaction lifecycle
• Hands-on experience with:
• ISO 8583
• Payment gateways and processors
• Strong SQL and data analysis skills
• Experience with API integrations (REST/SOAP)
