Job Title: Network Security Engineering Consultant – Akamai WAF Job ID:26-01076 Location: Remote Duration: 6 Months on W2 contract (Possible Extension)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Network Security Engineering Consultant with strong expertise in Akamai Web Application Firewall (WAF) and Bot Manager Premier (BMP) to support application and workload migration to AWS cloud. The consultant will optimize WAF policies, manage security configurations, and respond to web application security incidents.

Responsibilities:

Manage and optimize Akamai WAF and Bot Manager policies
Monitor, analyze, and respond to web application security incidents
Tune WAF rules to reduce false positives and improve protection
Review WAF logs, alerts, and reporting
Collaborate with cloud and security teams during AWS migration
Ensure protection against OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities

Required Skills:

5+ years experience with Akamai WAF and Bot Manager Premier
Strong knowledge of web application security and OWASP Top 10
Experience handling security incidents and policy tuning
Familiarity with AWS and hybrid cloud security architectures
Experience with log analysis and SIEM tools

Nice to Have:

Security certifications (CCSP, GIAC, Akamai Certified), DevSecOps or Infrastructure-as-Code experience.

Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position is between $98.00 - $105.00 per hour.
