Job title: IBM Sterling Commerce Engineer

Location: Sunnyvale CA

Duration: Contract 

Client: Walmart

Visas: L2 and TN 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain B2B/EDI integrations using IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (SI).

• Develop and modify EDI maps (X12, EDIFACT) and business processes.

• Configure and manage trading partners, communication protocols (FTP, SFTP, AS2, HTTP/S).

• Monitor and support EDI/B2B production environments, including issue analysis and resolution.

• Perform troubleshooting of EDI failures, data errors, and communication issues.

• Handle onboarding and certification of new trading partners.

• Perform system upgrades, patches, and migrations for Sterling environments.

• Work closely with business, QA, and infrastructure teams to deliver integration solutions.

• Create and maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks.

• Participate in on-call support and incident management as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on experience with IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (SI) or Sterling Commerce.

• Expertise in EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT, ANSI).

• Experience with Gentran Integration Suite (GIS) is a plus.

• Solid understanding of B2B protocols: AS2, FTP/SFTP, HTTP/S.

• Experience with EDI mapping tools, business processes, and mailbox configuration.

• Strong Unix/Linux command-line experience.

• Knowledge of databases (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server).

• Experience in production support and batch processing.

• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
