We are currently seeking a Design Engineer I to work as a structural engineer in our White Bear Lake office. The ideal candidate will have 0-2 years of experience in structural engineering.
Duties and Responsibilities - Design of buildings and miscellaneous support structures under the supervision of a licensed structural engineer
- Read and interpret project plans, specifications, shop drawings and other construction documents
- Provide clients with efficient engineering design that adheres to the jurisdiction's current building codes and standards
- Will learn to think critically about unique structures and their solutions
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering within 3 months
- Undergraduate coursework must show emphasis in structural design
- Strong project organization and management skills
- Solid interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Engineering-in-training (EIT) certificate, or the ability to obtain within one year
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with structural analysis software (such as Abacus, RISA or STAAD)
- Familiarity with AutoCAD design software, REVIT
