Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Java Developer with strong hands-on coding experience and prior experience working on State Government projects involving Integrated Eligibility Systems (IES/IEM). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Java, Microservices, and enterprise-level application development supporting large-scale government eligibility platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Integrated Eligibility Module (IEM) components for state government programs.
Write high-quality, scalable, and maintainable Java code with strong hands-on development involvement.
Develop and enhance microservices-based applications using modern Java frameworks.
Work with cross-functional teams to implement eligibility rules, workflows, and benefit program logic.
Participate in system design, code reviews, and performance optimization.
Integrate systems with external state and federal data sources for eligibility verification.
Support agile development practices, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and stand-ups.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production and development environments.
Required Qualifications
5-7 years of experience in software development.
Strong hands-on experience in Java/J2EE development.
Experience with Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, and REST APIs.
Experience working on State Government Health & Human Services (HHS) or Integrated Eligibility Systems (IES/IEM).
Strong experience with SQL and relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar).
Experience with application integration, messaging, and data exchange frameworks.
Strong understanding of software design patterns and enterprise architecture.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Medicaid, SNAP, TANF, or other public assistance eligibility systems.
Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Git, and DevOps practices.
Experience working with state government modernization projects.
