Job Title: Cognos Analytics Administrator (Windows & SQL Server)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Cognos Analytics Administrator to manage, configure, and maintain Cognos Analytics environments running on Microsoft Windows servers with Microsoft SQL databases. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in configuring Cognos Analytics web and application servers using the Cognos Analytics Configuration tool. This role does not involve Cognos Analytics report writing or authoring.

Responsibilities:

1. Install, configure, and maintain IBM Cognos Analytics on Microsoft Windows servers.
2. Manage Cognos Analytics web and application servers using the Cognos Configuration tool.
3. Ensure optimal performance, security, and availability of the Cognos environment.
4. Perform server administration, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for Cognos services.
5. Integrate Cognos Analytics with Microsoft SQL Server databases and manage database connections.
6. Apply patches, upgrades, and service packs to Cognos Analytics environments.
7. Monitor Cognos server health, logs, and performance metrics to optimize system efficiency.
8. Work with IT infrastructure teams to manage Windows Server configurations supporting Cognos.
9. Implement user access controls, authentication settings, and security policies within Cognos.
10. Maintain technical documentation related to Cognos server configurations, setup, and troubleshooting procedures.

Required skills and Qualifications:

1. 7+ years of experience as a Cognos Analytics Administrator in a Windows Server environment.
2. Hands-on experience configuring Cognos Analytics web and application servers using the Cognos Configuration program.
3. Strong understanding of Microsoft SQL Server database connectivity with Cognos.
4. Experience with Windows Server administration, including performance tuning and troubleshooting.
5. Knowledge of Cognos security settings, authentication methods, and access controls.
6. Ability to diagnose and resolve Cognos server-related performance issues.
7. Familiarity with Windows-based automation, scripting, or scheduling tools is a plus.
8. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or within a team.
