Job Title: Network / System Engineer III
Duration: 8 Months
Location: Richmond VA
Payrate: $55.00 - 60.55/hr
Project Summary
Responsibilities will span systems engineering activities supporting Mainframe (System z) Storage projects with varying degrees of complexity - includes system design, build, development, implementation, maintenance, operations, and client support across infrastructure and software. Ability to work under minimal supervision from more seasoned consultants or managers - includes support of senior personnel and project managers on technical projects; may assist and help train junior analysts - includes guiding and providing technical peer reviews. Ability to work on complex problems where analysis of situation or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors; exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results.
DASD management and replication skills:
Experienced MF Storage administrator with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience
Strong technical documentation writing skills
Experience with Hitachi Vantara DASD synchronous and asynchronous replication
Experience with IBM TAPE GRID configurations
Experience with Broadcom (Brocade) FICON directors and channel extension
Involved with implementation of new MF Storage technologies
In-depth knowledge of ACC/SRS, ACS, DFHSM, ICKDSF, CA1, User Catalogs, ABARS, TDMF, and DFDSS
Self-starter and able to work without hands-on supervision
Proficient with SAS, VISIO, MS Office, and REXX
Project management skills
Assembler, CLIST, and REXX knowledge
Conceptual understanding of Mainframe Operations
